hi, I posted this once before but it was over Thanksgiving weekend and got no responses, and I’d love to hear any advice: we have a new dark grey Zodiaq brand countertop and inadvertently left a bottle of Lestoil on it, which leaked and now there is a white ring on the countertop. Any advice on how to remove it? It’s brand new, and we hope to rent out the unit very soon! thank you and please avoid lestoil on this type of counter if you also have it!

  1. Not sure about your countertop but ttw’s suggestion sounds good. If you can’t get that right away, I’ve found that salt can be good at pulling stains out of some things.

  2. Ok, if this is a stone countertop or maybe even another type of porous material, you will need a poultice. A poultice draws the stain, particularly oils – out of stone. I have only watched contractors do this on a large scale, but just checked and HD has a small container on their website. The poultice goes on like a clay and you let it sit on the stain for a day or so while it does its work.
