The owners never lived in the apartment after renovation, so this hasn’t been tested. Any opinions on keeping the exposed brick? Alternatively I’d like to get estimates on what it would cost to tile 2 walls of a small bathroom. To that end, I’d appreciate contractor recommendations.
Thank you in advance!
ooooh chile, big old no on this one!!!! poo mist gets caught in the small pourousness of the bricks!!!! you cant really get that out, it will ruin the brick. you could put a couple of layers of paint over it to prevent that tho.

Make sure the mortar between the bricks is in good shape. Then you can seal over it all. You may or may not be getting much “red dust” on the floor from the bricks so wait a week or two to see.
I live in the area and I think I know the apartment too. If the brick wall is something you want to keep, a few coats of polly should help. If you would like an estimate for the tile, I can meet with you. You can reach me through my website at RickLaddBrooklyn.com
