is anyone out there interested in purchasing flooring from a c.1850 townhouse?

  1. Is this the flooring in your photo? 2″ would work for us, but I have a few questions for you. Do you know what type of wood it is…red oak, white oak? I believed that I am looking for strip flooring because we want to nail it down to match the original nail holes in the rest of the floor. Is yours tongue and groove? You can contact me at 917.376.4161. Thank you.

  2. If you have removed the floor and don’t want to pay for hauling – we will pick up at no cost. We ask that the pieces are at least 24 inch long. And as long as most have been handle with as much care as possible we are happy to haul.

  3. I think it’s T&G. I take back what I said earlier. I guess you could try to reuse it. However removing it with care and reinstalling it would take considerable time. There would be some loss and damage too and you would need to sand and finish it again. I guess I would consider the extra trouble if the wood was special or the savings is large enough to be worth the extra trouble.

  4. That looks like strip flooring to me, not tongue and groove. (Though I can’t really see face nail patterns at least in this photo). I have successfully pulled up strip flooring and T&G and installed it elsewhere.

  5. It can’t be removed without being damaged. It can’t be reused. I’m not sure what your project is? You may want to leave it as is.
