I am looking for a spray foam insulation contractor. Need to spray my entire attic, the florida room and garage. I received one price from a guy who just sprayed three floor and roof of a client’s new building and I was a bit floored by the price. Anyone out got a recommendation?

  1. Sorry SuperSeal is a window company Airseal is for spray foam. I used both and I think the closed cell foam is worth the extra cost, it acts as waterproofing and adds to the stuctural strength of the building

  2. Bobjohn – Everything is open and spraying is the best, seals the leaks. The batt companies are now selling kits to do an initial spray at the seams to close the leaks. Using closed cell yeilds about R-7 per inch. It will be like living in an igloo. May not even here my crazy neighbor too much anymore…

I will check that list and see if SuperSeal is still around. I asked three companies that were recommended to me. The 2nd is draging their feet about giving me a price and the 3rd does not even respond to the inital call or email. You wonder how some people stay in business.

  3. I haven’t had this done, but the NHS list of energy program approved contractors seems like a good list of people to check out, since they all go through a vetting process to get into the program. There are a lot of insulation contractors on the list.

  4. A few years ago I used SuperSeal from Brooklyn. At the time they seemed to be the only ones to spray high density foam in the city. They were good not great. The cost was around $1 a board foot for high density a little less for open cell. You have to watch to make sure you get the thickness you pay for.A $50 tip in advance to the guy spraying is a worthwhile investment.
