Sorry in advance to those of you who don’t care about decks, but to answer a couple of questions it’s easier to post another pic. The spiral stair was built by Lopopolo and brought to our house in two or sections. I went with slats because they seem easier on the feet, and will be easier to repaint.

  1. Thanks, OP for posting the cost! VERY reasonable, less than I paid for a smaller deck with wood flooring.

Rhododendrons and hydrangeas seem to be very picky about watering, mine (h) basically gave up even tho I tried to water it daily in the extreme heat. Other large plants were more forgiving. Expect it will revive next year.

  2. Hey Kwar228 your deck looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing and you are right a picture is so much more helpful. If we may ask what material are the slats made of? Wood? Which kind? Thanks again and not to worry most folks love decks 🙂

  3. I’m glad it worked out and that you used my recommedations that I had posted on the forum. I think Lopopolo does great work and he was the best deal I could find. Schnall’s office is pretty busy but they got the work done for me too. I’m sure you will be happy with the slats for the deck floor. I like the way it filters light below. I have lights on my fence below the deck. When the lights are on, at night, it gives a neat effect. Much like a swimming pools glow.
