I would greatly appreciate a recommendation for a property surveyer who can provide test pit results for foundation locations and depths of property that surrounds our current building site in williamsburg.

  1. Oh. I forgot to add that I don’t know if surveyors will do the test pits you’re talking about. I have another company that does soil borings, but that’s usually for filing purposes and runs about $1000. You could ask the surveyor, but might also consider hiring a day laborer with a pick and shovel to dig small holes by hand.

  2. We recommend Boro Land Surveying for all our jobs. They’re consistently inexpensive and provide very good service. Regardless of who you get, if you’re considering doing an addition or any serious work, make sure to request a full architectural survey the first time. Most of the cost is getting them to come to the site, so for a couple more bucks get all the survey work done now, or you’ll pay double to have them out again to add the info later.
