Selling Condos in Clinton Hill
We are ready to move out of Brooklyn, so we have to put our 2 condos in CH up forsale. To those who have recently sold condos/properties in the area, do you recommend trying to sell on your own? I know it is a major pain but might be worthwhile to save ALOT of money…

If we were to use agents(most likely), is it possible to negotiate a lower commission if I give them both units (or should I go with 2 different agents?) Would be nice if I can knock off 1 (or half) a percent. Any recommendation on a good agent who specialize in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill?
Thanks for any input. I am nervous about the whole thing.
That would be Andrea Yarrington at Corcoran that I am agreeing with Delepp about…
Oh Delepp! You beat me to the punch. Andrea is awesome. I have conducted two sales with her, from both sides of the equation, and always enjoyed working with her. Highly recommended.
6%
where does the 3% one pays a broker go to? just for the priviledge of using their website? or are they actually supposed to come in and stage the place and be available to show the place whenever a potential buyer wants to see it? let’s say you have a place for sale for 500k. it’s so absurd in my eyes to have to pay 15k to a broker! (if not more? what’s the regular commish?).
“if I can knock off 1 (or half) a percent”
Thin margins nowadays if even positive. But thanks to temporary relief from Washington/FEDs, it’s still a decent time to sell. Mayhem is around the corner. Good luck.

Lastblade, get a professional to do your pics and design the website…list it here and in the NY Times.
Ask denton in the OT for help. he did a beautiful website for someone once.

FILLMORE REAL ESTATE
Fillmore listings are among the worst I’ve ever seen.
andrea yarrington at corcoran is quite knowledgeable about the area and managed to sell what is essentially a cold water flat in my building for quite a bit.
Thanks for all the suggestion, I contacted a couple of them and hope to interview one or two more before I make a decision.
As much as I want to FSBO, I don’t think I will have the time to do it. It is a lot of money but my time is equally valuable and I don’t want to get too stressed out over the whole process (packing/cleaning/improving minor things and finding another home are enough as it is). Thanks for ALL the comments and blog links, they really help me make my decision and I feel that it is the right one.
