I am trying to have a birds nest removed from below our gutter in the rear of our brownstone.
does anyone have any recs for someone who knows something about insects associated with this, namely bird mites?

specifically, i am wondering if anyone out there in the Clinton Hill area remembers the Dept. of Agriculture guys coming around about a month ago looking for asian longhorns. there was a particular tree climber in the group that gave me his card, which i have since lost. I feel that this guy would be perfect for the job.

He was an athletic slender white male who climbs trees fast and has a tree pruning/removal business on the side. he may have given you his card which reads “(his name)’s Trees”

thanks all.

  1. Make sure the mom has not left eggs – if you have only eggs – you have to remove it fast – as the mites will look for another host. a Mite infestation is psychological torture.

  2. Assuming you have access to your roof, just reach around the gutter and remove whatever has to be removed. Wear gloves if you’re concerned about bird mites. No need for any climbing, other than on the ladder to your roof hatch.
