Probably not the best place to ask, but I am getting new car which will be parked on streets of Bayridge. It will be Audi station wagon and I am trying to decide between 2006 A4 and A6. Does A6 looks too ostentatious and will attract too much of unwanted attention from thrifts?

It is 2″ longer and 9″ wide then the old one (which I have right now). Would it make it even harder to park?

  1. I find that difficulty parking depends on which street you live on. For example I can usually get a spot on my block because the whole row of homes across from me have garages in the back of the house which they access from one common driveway, freeing up spaces for everyone else on the block. As a matter of fact my car is 50 – 60 percent of the time parked in front of my house. Just to take the point home, when alternate side ends you can easily get a spot for about two hours after because no one has to move their cars back.

PS. No I won’t tell you what block it is. ;).

  2. diff btw A4 and A6 only evident to cogniseti… wagons never considered ostentatious anyway.

  3. Street parking in Bay Ridge is a serious headache (you probably know this). There are plenty of late model bmw, benz, caddy, audi, range rovers parked all over the streets in the nabe so I wouldn’t worry too much about yours drawing attention (bc it won’t). You also might be aware that drivers in the ridge are generally kinda reckless and couldn’t care less if they accidentally damage your vehicle (spoken from experience) so invest in those bumper saver pad thingys.

  4. Bay Ridge, man, with all of those driveways! I’d get a Smart Car. You can park that in your living room.
