The bathroom in this picture has a frameless, clipless glass panel. Even looking closely, I can’t see how the glass is attached to the tile.

I’m renovaing my apartment and really like this look. Does anyone know how it is achieved?

Thanks in advance for comments.

  2. Looks like blue-edged plate glass @ 1″.

The fabricator probably cut a slot in the stone, put silicon in the slot, and ran the glass in. 1″ plate is strong enough that it won’t break and you need to get it tempered.

  3. it is mounted in a (probably) continuous steel U-shaped shoe inside the wall. the shoe is attached to whatever stud work is there and the green board is applied right up to either glass edge with the setting bed and tile work on top of that. structural sealant bead at the tub. It’s a nice clean look, but should the glass ever break (it happens!) you’ll need to open up the wall to replace.

  4. Since it doesn’t run to the ceiling I have to assume the glass is set in a slot in the threshold and the wall. Built in place. Tricky business, but would be fun to do.
