Hi
It is located in my crawling space. Someone told me that it might be where the oil tank was situated- It was replaced with gas burner years ago. When I get heavy rains, there is water coming out of it. I punched a hole in it and it is filled with dirt.
That is all the info I have… Anyone ever saw such a thing or have any idea what it is?
Have you ever considered that it may be an old oil tank?
The dirt inside may actually be sand.
Was your tank removed during the conversion?
And,
some retired oil tanks are enclosed in either cement or
bricks, into a ‘bunker’. I can only guess that was done instead
of removal because of cost.
Consider bringing in a plumber or heating specialist. They
may shed some light on it.
hhhh I linked some pictures but because there is no preview I couldn’t see that it was not posted.
I’ll try again:

what do you guys think?
Sounds like part of the original underground railroad.
No one can tell you because there is no picture.
It could be chimney covered with cement. But of course anything could fit the description above. I.e. if you punch a hole in the foundation wall (using some heavy artillery?) you will see dirt and water during the rain.
Got a pic?
