Something was accidentally knocked into our bathroom sink and somehow a large chunk of the sink broke out. We obviously have to get a new sink, but can anyone tell me how difficult it will be to do this work? It’s a Restoration Hardware vanity with a marble counter top.

  1. Strange to hear a vanity sink breaking in that fashion. Replacing the sink is not that hard. You just need to disconnect the drain, and there are clips screwed into the marble top that hold the sink in. The sinks are basically generic — just get one the same size. Sinks do not come with the drain hardware — you will need to reuse the old one (large channel lock pliers needed to remove it) or buy new one. Don’t forget to get some plumber’s putty.
