I’m looking for a larger, heavier-duty version of the pocket slide hinges that can be used for regular 7′ interior doors. I have a closet with two doors that swing open from the middle and want the doors to slide back into the closet, like the pic of the cabinet doors.

Any idea of where I can get “SLIDE HINGES” for regular doors?

  1. The one in the photo is pocket door hardware for cabinet doors and work with european hinges. The size constraints are usually 3/4″ to 7/8″ thickness(uses a 35mm hinge). There is a model that will accommodate a “thick door hinge” (40mm cup) that will give you 1 1/8″ door thickness. All of which are cabinet door sizes.

To do this correctly with a passage door you will need a pivot sliding door fitting which is available through Hafele. I can’t remember how much it cost, but it wasn’t cheap.

  2. Thanks. I saw those before but am a little worried about the listed spec’s:

    – Max door height: 78″ (7’door = 84″)
    – Max door width: 1 1/4″ (7’door = 1 3/4″)
    – Max door weight: 75 ibs (7’door = solid core (heavy))

I think the weight of the door might be the biggest factor.
