Is there a rule of thumb for how much a management company would charge, say for a small commercial/residential building, monthly rent roll of about 70K? Duties are the day to day stuff, collecting rent, overseeing vendors for repairs etc.

  1. I am an agent with a management company that has been around for 16 years. Management companies have a minimum fee which is typically between 250-350 per unit per year and go up from there. BE WEARY though, sometimes managing companies charge what seems to be a small fee to rope you in and then crush you with other charges in the long run.

  2. As an owner of a management firm, we’re constantly hearing this from potential clients. We typically charge between $300 – $600 per unit, per year. This depends on the location of the building and various other variables. (mblevine@ebmg.com)

  3. Not knowing much about your building, I’d guess between $400 and $800/mo. depending on what’s included. Everything is negotiable. . .
