  1. we used Stanley Lewis plumbing three times for this job (three different apartments). I think the cost was about $1,000-$1,500 for the hookup depending on your particulars and if you are venting the dryer. You can spend $1,100 on the machines or a lot more.

I do recommend a front loader I think it gets clothes cleaner and definitely uses less water.

    Stanley Lewis plumbing:
749 Prospect Place Brooklyn, NY 11216
    Tel: (718) 774-8757 or (718) 778-8288

If you’re in south brooklyn area, J&R appliances on 7th avenue in the slope sells appliances and will match big box store prices. They are very nice too.

  2. Try Julio from Bonete Renovation, he hooked up my system (electrical and plumbing) in my home in Bergen County, NJ. He’s also my maintenance guy for my 3 unit Brownstone property in Windsor Terrace. His contact # is 718-781-9904. You can see his work at http://www.boneterenovation.com, his estimates are extremely reasonable.

    Tell him I recommended you.

  3. I had a great guy, Peter Dymond, help me out in re-routing and re-hooking up my washer and dryer connections. He didn’t do any electrical for me, but I would be sure he knows how- he seemed super handy– plus, he was friendly, honest and reasonable.
