Hi All,
Where is the best place to buy good quality blinds? Lowes?
How much should I set aside to purchase custom blinds for 3 large windows?
$1000-1500?

Thanks!

  1. I think the best way to go about getting any kind of window treatments is just call local window treatments companies, all if not most provide free in home estimate, I called 3 companies just to confirm I am not over charged and decided to go with Eclipse Window Treatments (http://www.eclipsenyc.com) There are many companies out there!

  3. I also recommend The Shadestore. They have a very wide selection and make the shades to your measurements. You can visit their showrooms (one in Soho and one in midtown) to get samples.

  4. If you have odd sizes (mine were very large) Pintchick cannot be beat and I will go back (as I have now twice before). Have them measure for you. I got Hunter-Douglas and Levelor for as low a price as anywhere else; they have a range of suppliers (even cheap ones). And they were great to work with. And I agree, wood blinds ar ento best for the bedroom. With real wood, you ave to be careful about the size/weight.

  5. We had a good experience with Hunter Douglas stuff purchased from LWP Home Products. They’re local and the install is done right. The only drawback is I felt it took them a little long to to get the product and schedule an install, but the quality of the work is very good.

  6. we bought ours at home depot. we were looking for very basic. if you go that route (lowes/home depot) pay attention to the cutting. the machine blade was not sharp and we didn’t watch them cut so we had to get them cut again bc they were jagged in some places.

  7. I also used Budget Blinds and had a good experience. Eric brought over the samples and took the measurements and they looked great when they were installed.
