Hi All,
Where is the best place to buy good quality blinds? Lowes?
How much should I set aside to purchase custom blinds for 3 large windows?
$1000-1500?

Thanks!

  1. I bought my blinds at ACE-Pintchik on Bergen and Flatbush.
I got a wood product (not wood slats – they told me that the wooden ones warp and the wood-glue ones don´t and they look the same AND are cheaper. They haven´t warped). The service there is so good, they are really nice and there were no mistakes despite many different sizes. By the way, I bought the same exact shades a second time after a freaking squirrel got into my house and ate EVERY single blind. Same good service.

  2. I bought all my blinds at Pintchik – ACE at Bergen and Flatbush. I forget the manufacturer, but they were a wood-wood-glue product (they told me that they wouldn´t warp like wood and they haven´t). The service there is so good, no errors despite all the different sizes. By the way, I bought the same blinds again a second time after a g#*dam*nd squirrel got into my house and ate every freaking blind in the house.

  6. Traditionalmod, I’m cracking up over your post — only because I first started to answer this thread last night by saying, “believe it or not, JC Penney has an extensive window treatments department with regular good prices and frequent great sales” (And then I didn’t post). lol. Now that I see you’ve mentioned JCP, I’ve got to back you up. We got Hunter Douglass fabric combo blinds/venetian shades from JCP some years ago and, like Mopar, had them installed by someone very experienced at the task. Couldn’t be happier.

  7. Budget Blinds of Brooklyn is great. They have a wide range to choose from and are very well priced. Eric the owner is knowledgeable and most helpful in choosing the correct blinds and style. Their installers are fast, friendly and efficient. Plus, you are buying local.

  8. I just looked and JC Penney does have the real wood blinds again though not as cheap right now as I got them in the past. You can wait for sales, they have them pretty frequently on their window treatments (they still send me sale catalogs).
