There is a dead tree in front of the building next to ours. I’d love to see a live one there. Does the city plant these? Will they replace it? If so, who would I contact? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

your community board should have a tree program
Will take at least a year, but you need to get in the queue. Governors island is clearly more important, sheesh!
go to the website of 311 and there is a place where you can request a tree, remove a tree all about trees.
I have requested a tree in the hood, and a year later we did get it.

Don’t know w/ budget tightening how long it would take, but you should submit a request.
