New Brownstone Interior Doors?
So I’m doing a renovation of my brownstone. The doors on the fourth floor are completey shot to hell. I was wondering if anyone knows any good companies or carpenters who manufacture or make nice doors for brownstones or something similar.

I’ve successfully ordered great customized sized solid Oak doors from:

Your best bet might be picking up some old doors in the same size and style. They cost about $15 each at Eddie’s Salvage on Grand and Greene. Or just repair the old ones. What seems to be wrong with them? New ones come pre-hung in a frame. Old door frames are not square.
I assume you would be getting rid of the old doors, if so, would you happen to have one of the same style size 20″ x 89″ if yes, please contact me at 26052r@gmail.com
Thank you
Hi, we’ve made plenty of works in brownstones; right now we’re doing a front door for a client who contact us through this page. Please feel free to contact us and I’d be glad to help you, and give you references.
Take a look at our website, it’s still on construction but you can see some pictures of our last work and if you prefer we can send you some pictures of doors.

PHf,
I’ll do you one better. The day we closed on our house, I went to the top floor and cleaned up the remains of what I assume was a bit of partying that went on that day. I mean, really, who breaks into a house, goes to the back room of the top floor, just to drink Kool Aid and eat Pringles and big bags of Sun Chips except in the service of satisfying the munchies? They must have gotten spooked and left in a hurry because the stuff was half-consumed and not tossed around like trash. I think they thought they were coming back.
wow – that grafitti is classic, not really good tagging in my opinon, but grafitti nonetheless
was your house inhabited by squatters before you bought it?
exactly I couldn’t resist either – am sure you will find great doors, but the floors are cool and what will you do about the brick painted black?
Sorry I couldn’t resist –our house had graffiti all over the walls and doors too! In one of the bedrooms there was even a “blunt count” mural that looked like it was added to regularly…..
Good luck finding doors, we ended up buying new 5 panel (horizontal) doors from Dykes.
Take a look at the Rogue Valley doors website. I’ve installed some of their doors for some Brooklyn customers and they’ve been pleased. Dykes carries their product.
