Hiya,
We’re recent, first-time condo buyers and got a bill from National Grid for renewing our service contract that covers the heating and cooling systems. Not only is the bill unexpected, but it is also for over $400. What I’d like to know is whether this is something that we should do, and whether there are other options. Any help out there is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Mine is 240 for boiler & w/h with National Grid
Thanks. It includes parts and labor for the central heat/AC and the water heater. And one “tune-up” for the house heater and AC. We do have gas forced air with central AC.
Czar, who is your contract with and does it cover heat, AC, and water heater?
We have the service contract and have had to use it once. It definitely paid for itself on that visit. Ours is only $200 something per year though, not $400.
This sounds like a typical service contract for yearly maintenance, inspection & cleaning. Certainly nothing that you are obligated to take or pay. Although it’s a good idea to have a yearly cleaning/inspection, this price is high.
What do they say it includes??? I’m assuming you’ve got gas forced air with or without central AC
