Are you looking for a replacement spindle? Eddie on Grand and Greene has tons and may have a match. Check also eBay. The stair repair guys also make them, not sure what they charge.

Had them replicate some large rope mouldings last summer. Great place to visit, tons of moulding. Get more than one in case of another fight.
I have something similar but not the same. Sorry. Those Victorians never did things exactly the same.
Years ago a place called American Stair or somesuch in Queens custome-made spindles for me for, like, $25 apiece. Amazing price and good work.

I tried this place one time, they seemed to have a lot in stock. “Caravati’s Inc.”
or this place: http://www.vintagewoodworks.com/
Also, there’s a place in Gowanus that will replicate a baluster for about $125. Which seems kinda pricy. The name escapes me.
I think Arkady used the missing spindle to beat her cats.
Thanks.
