Hello All,
Do you have any recommendations for a good broker who knows Brooklyn Heights and the area in and around it well? We are looking to buy a place, but would like the help of someone who knows the area well. Thank you!

  1. Barbara Krongel at Halstead.
Knows the neighborhood and surrounding area quite well, has lived and worked there for many many years. Just google her for the phone number.

  2. Nancy Giddens at Brown Harris on Montague Street. Lives in BH and knows it well. If you’re clear about what you want, she will take you to places that fit your criteria exactly. I always dislike brokers who either upsell you (“I know your limit is $500K, but if you want to take a look at a great place for $650K…”) or ignore your wishes altogether and hustle you through every random listing the agency has.

  3. Ezra Orchard at Brown Harris Stevens. Really like him, one of only a few brokers out there who put the clients needs first, not just out to make his commission. He also knows what he is talking about

  4. Brian Lehner at Brown Harris Stevens on Montague St.

Have worked with him for years for both rental and sales. Only broker I’ll use.

  5. hmmm
I think Buyer’s Brokers aren’t what they are so cracked up to be. I think you are better off doing your own searches on the internet through nytimes.com, streeteasy and local brokerages like corcoran.com,warrenlewis.com,prudentialelliman.com etc

Sure, a buyers broker will help in the beginning of your search giving you the “low-down” on particular nabes, streets and buildings but I think they might hamper your success when bidding on a place especially if you are competing with a buyer who doesn’t have a broker representing them. The Listing agent really doesn’t want to share their comission which they would have to do if they had to deal with your broker.
