Wood Panelling/White Baseboards
This question has probably been asked before. But what do people think of white painted baseboards (new, from Dykes) juxtaposed with original oak panelling (unpainted). I am trying to incorporate woodwork that has been recently salvaged from my neighbor’s renovation into my house (which had no details left to preserve, hence the white painted mouldings)….

I am trying to incorporate woodwork that has been recently salvaged from my neighbor’s renovation into my house (which had no details left to preserve, hence the white painted mouldings). I do have the original shutters, stripped & finished already installed.

BM: yes, they have already been painted (new as of 3 years ago, not new anymore).
Do you have an email address at which I can send you pics?
BTW, if the baseboards are already painted white, they could be stained to match (fairly closely) with a varnish stain over a tan base coat.
Why not try staining the new baseboards to match the rest of the woodwork?
