Does reglazing for clawfoot tubs work? I’m coming across different opinions as to how effective it is and if it is a viable long term solution.

It does not make sense for me to re-enamel the tub if it’s the same cost as a new clawfoot.

  1. I agree,

I’ve had several tubs reglazed in rental properties. There’s a service that advertises in Brooklyn weeklies at $199 per tub.
The sparkling new looking tub is a crowd pleaser when renting and the glaze seems to hold up for at least 4-5 years under heavy use.

  2. I haven’t done this myself but have a friend that did so for 250.00 a few years back and the tub looks great. To this day the glazing still looks new.

  3. Reglazing is loads cheaper than a new tub of any kind. I’ve had two tubs reglazed and they’re holding up fine.
