The electronic air filter of my home’s heating unit isn’t working. I paid $180 to have an HVAC contractor diagnose the problem. The unit needs to be replaced. The cost of a new unit is $650, plus a labor estimate of 3 hours at a $175 an hour for a worker and a helper to install it. The filter is easily accessible . Does the labor charge sound reasonable?
Wow for that amount I’d take a trip to Europe instead. The benefits of air filtration are way overrated unless you have terminal allergies.
