Fixing a Chandelier That Rattles
We have a ceiling fixture that rattles loudly when kids are playing upstairs. It’s a newish chandelier-type fixture, hanging from an old plaster ceiling. Any ideas on how we could stabilize this fixture in the ceiling so that it holds still?

Still time for a late term abortion???
I saw this problem addressed on tv once. You have to look at this like a earthquake proofing a building, i.e. sturdy, rigid supports are the enemy as they just transfer the vibrations and noise down to the chandelier. You have to decouple the supports that attach chandelier to the ceiling/joists.
That’s the idea anyway, but as far as implementation – research.
You need to get a new fixture, or put in new additional floor joists to stiffen the floor. -cheaper than new mawble columns.
attach a pulley to the adjoining mawble columns and it wont shake no more? jk. happy thanksgiving 🙂

Put a flush mount fixture on the ceiling.
Anything than hangs from a ceiling that vibrates will rattle.
