TV Above Working Fireplace?
Hi all, Considering opening up the fireplaces in a 4 story b’stone and was wondering if we go through with this – are we able to mount a flat screen above the fireplace??? Haven’t seen this addressed before and can’t find anything in the archives. Thanks, guys.

Thanks everyone.
It’ll be fine.
Frame it like art and buy a mirror kit for it…..
It’ll keep the vulgarity level down.
I’m pretty sure I saw a piece in The Times a while ago saying it’s a bad idea to mount a t.v. over a fireplace – for the sake of the t.v., not the flue or anything. I’d ask the people at the place where you’re getting the t.v.
Check out the new LED flatscreens…they are only 1 1/2″ thick!!!!!!!
THe only thing it’s considered very high to give you the proper viewing angle. Might get a stiff neck. At least get a bracket that can tilt down.
sure you can. wont affect the fireplace. just need secure masonry screws. you could also place it on the mantle shelf.
Kind of redundent. I think the flat screen produces more heat. Agree with eman though.
