DOB Electrical Inspection
We hired this electrician to install outlets in our basement. All the work is done, we are just waiting for the DOB inspection. He told us 3 weeks ago that it normally takes 3-4 weeks for the DOB to inspect. So our date is suppose to be set for next week…I just found out now…
We hired this electrician to install outlets in our basement. All the work is done, we are just waiting for the DOB inspection. He told us 3 weeks ago that it normally takes 3-4 weeks for the DOB to inspect. So our date is suppose to be set for next week…I just found out now that he DOB called him to reschedule it for the week after. Is this normal that it takes DOB this long to do an inspection? and also for them to just reschedule it?

yes, from my experience electrical inspection take about a month to schedule and they can’t be self-certified a la plumbing inspections so you have to wait for a time when the DOB can actually send someone. as denton mentioned you can check in online, just look up your address on the BIS.
You can keep track of inspections at nyc.gov and see if there is an inspection and who cancelled…
