Looking for recommendations for someone who can replace my aged and decrepit galvanized downspouts with copper ones, clean up the brickwork that’s been water/moss stained by the old, and coordinate a roto-rooter guy to clean out the pipes below grade. Thanks.

  1. Wyckoff, if you get a contractor to clean the exterior brickwork to your building, please don’t let them powerwash it. Elbow grease, scrubbing and gentle water wash will do the trick. I have a client that had a contractor powerwash the brick and now I am in the process of repairing plaster walls, plaster moulding and ceilings on each floor due to water damage. Good Luck.

  2. This reminds me–I have a copper downspout in my garage from the previous owner. Anybody know how or where to sell these? How much can you get for copper scrap in Brooklyn?

  3. the new copper downspouts installed on the church on our block were stolen rather quickly after installation – they looked great but are a real temptation for thieves
