Greetings all:
Anyone who has read my reno blog knows the horrendous time I had getting Brooklyn Kitchens (formerly known as Garfield Kitchens) to deliver what I needed in the way of vanities, fixtures, kitchen cabinets, etc., all of which were paid in advance.
Apparently things have gotten even worse, if that’s possible. I have just been contacted by an attorney who is preparing to sue Brian Ackerman on behalf of her client for non-delivery.
She’s interested in hearing from other Brownstoners who have similar stories to tell. Her name is Audrey Roth and her email is aroth@convergentgc.com.
Just a quite update. Our numbers are now close to twenty and growing every week. If you were affected, please join our google group — http://groups.google.com/group/bkb_ackerman
I know there are many, many more of you out there!
Don’t be ashamed!
The biggest snake on the planet! He has failed to deliver $7000.00 in goods and have sent us bad reimbursement checks. Brian Ackerman the owner cannot be trusted. He will offer you discounts if you pay in full in either cash or check. Don’t be fooled cause you’re just giving your money away. We took him to court where he was a big no show and now a city sheriff is going to try to get payment. I am a firm believer in karma and this guy located in Park Slope Garfield Street will have some very bad luck in his life, especially when he is screwing good people that earn their money with pride and honor. BROOKLYN KITCHENS AND BATH will most likely change their name again. But if you see the same owner there, Brian, you should know what he’s capable of. Absolute liar. I’m going to the Brooklyn Papers after this post and I have proof of everything.
A group of community members who experienced losses because of their business dealing with Brian Ackerman of Brooklyn Kitchens and Bath are banning together.
If you were affected, please contact us immediately. Criminal actions are being planned. There are some of us who were taken for $30, 40, and even $50k with no products delivered. Don’t be ashamed!

Thank you.
Even my dog didn’t like Brian when he came to the house and measured the kitchen. Four months after I order kitchen cabinets and appliances from Brian the only thing I’m getting is promises on deliveries, money back. lies on top of lies. I intend to sue this bastard. Has anyone in this forum done that? I could use a lawyer familiar with Brooklyn Kitchens tactics.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE —
I am out money and time — and have spent more time than I can imagine on lies and excuses why my countertop is not installed. It has been 7 months, tons of promises of installations or refunds — nothing. Call after call after call. This place is dishonest and I am going to need to sue to get my promised refund. Please stay away — this has been horrible. One of the most dishonest places I have dealt with.
Jeepers.

Yeah. Ted Bundy operated that way too.
I was wondering about this.. and even posting with my problems with brooklyn kitchens. I ordered a specific bathtub (with very particular dimensions)from them in July, it never came never came etc. etc. It was over $800. The excuses got stranger and stranger. Finally I phoned the factory and the order had never been made! The supplier told me another place in brooklyn that supplies the make of bathtub I wanted or similar dimensions. I asked for my money back from Brian, and I told him that I had another supplier to go to where they had something I could use right away.(i was now one month with no bathtub/shower in my one bedroom apt. and going crazy going to friends and gym etc).Anyhow I made the mistake of letting him go get the bathtub from the other supplier and bring it to me, he said he would refund me the difference, over a month ago (it is some 300 dollars which for me is alot). He never did, but he gest weird, he even phoned me last friday to tell me he had returned it when I told him it was not in my credit card. He says that do I really think he ins’t goint to refund, and so it goes on. I am crazy, I feel like he wears people down so you give up. But I really do need this money. I also find myself in the weird position of liking him in some ways, I guess it is his tactic
Hey SF, I hear ya. I guess there are two ways to look at it. I’m taking the approach that my neighbors are my friends and I want to help them.
