We are deciding if we should go with the Williamson gwa-105 or the Burnham q240 (cant find any info on it). The Burnham unit will cost an additonal $100. This is for a 2 Family (Semi-Detach) house. We want to get 2 zones..each floor having their own dedicated heat/domestic hot water. This work is part of the oil to gas conversion for our house that our plumber is quoting us. Thanks in advance.
There are a lot of new incentives for oil to gas conversions from Nationalgrid as well as rebates for high efficiency. Make sure you do your research before signing, the incentive program has recently changed. http://www.thinksmartthinkgreen.com can help.
burnham is one of the premium boilers made, but i would go with another contractor, since your guy is maing up model numbers (fraud)
Williamson is a builder’s grade (read: cheap) boiler made by the Weil-McLain company but will never carry their nametag.
Burnham is one of the best boilers out there where standard efficiency is what you’re looking for, but as you may have already found out, that’s not a valid model number for a Burnham product.
Are you sure your plumber is a good heating guy?
I did Burnham in a similar set-up & have been happy w/ it.
I’ve heard good things about Burnham from repair guys.
