I own a building and have had problems with mice inside and rats in the garden. I bought a device called a RatZapper (see Amazon)which electrocutes them. I caught four mice within a week. Very easy disposal and immediately back on the job. Downside is that it eats batteries. A rat must have gone into one I put in the garden after a few days and the rat must have gotten a good shock but the batteries were apparently already drained enough to where it wasn’t a lethal shock. On the whole though I like the device and would recommend it. See Amazon for more reviews.
what happened to having a cat that was a “mouser”?
Sad, machines taken over animals as well as humans!

This is the most remarkably efficient rodent assassination device one could possibly imagine. Put it down and watch em fry!

Every fall brownstoners go through the mouse in the house thing as the weather changes and mice look for more comfortable places to hang out. Inevitably mice invasions become a topic of discussion and out of all the solution, Ratzapper seems to win. It is great. I just caught a mouse this week in it.
Seriously, there was a discussion about these many months ago and I think many were in agreement that they were the best way to go.
Do they make one for Senators & Congressman?
Do they make one for stray cats??
