Any thoughts on 522 Lefferts?
I did a search but didn’t see anything on the 522 Lefferts Ave Condominiums. My wife and I are looking to move to Brooklyn and just getting familiar with the various areas (mainly looking in the areas around Prospect Park). We viewed a few units at 522 Lefferts and really liked it, but don’t know…
I did a search but didn’t see anything on the 522 Lefferts Ave Condominiums. My wife and I are looking to move to Brooklyn and just getting familiar with the various areas (mainly looking in the areas around Prospect Park).
We viewed a few units at 522 Lefferts and really liked it, but don’t know that much about the area or the builders.
Any thoughts?
Sorry for the late reply (this forum really needs a subscription option or someone to tell me where it is if there is one!).
We decided against it. I was ok with the area, but I thought the prices on these units was just too high. I brought my brother up to check it out. He builds high end, eco-friendly condos in Austin, TX. His opinion was that while it looked nice at first, they really cut a lot of corners. Little things like tile not matching up correctly, only one coat of paint, etc. As he put it, if they cut corners there, where else did they?
Additionally, I compared their prices on a square footage basis against a building across the street that was very similar in terms of quality, size (on a units basis), and ‘moderness’ (if that’s a word). What I found was that they were asking about $50-75 more per square foot.
We made them an offer inline with the other building, and they refused to even counter offer, so we just walked away.
Can you tell me if you decided to move to this place? My husband and I visited and we also liked it so we would be interested in hearing your thoughts.
That area is basically populated by Hasidic Jews and West Indians. Not any great restaurants, , entertainment, or shopping. So,so schools. A 3 block walk to the subway, on some empty streets late at night.
Lefferts Is a Good Area
