We are in the process of renovating a very small bathroom. I’m looking for a mirror and a shelf below that. Both mirror and shelf need to be 16 inches wide or narrower (the sink is only 12 by 12!). The plumbing supply store in Flushing where I bought the other fixtures did not have those fixtures in that size. Any ideas where I can go to get such small fixtures and not spend a fortune?

  1. Mirrors can be purchased, cut to your precise measurements, at any glass store. Depending on hardware configuration, you can buy a glass shelf at Ikea, then buy a glass cutter and cut to size yourself. Or bring the shelf with you to glass store and pay them to cut. I suspect many glass stores also carry hardware for glass they cut and sell themselves.

  2. There are kits of glass shelves that come in 12″ & 16″ lengths – about 4″ deep. Pintchik used to have them. You might find them on Amazon.
