Is there a “Heating and Cooling Specialist” license? Or does this mean he’s licensed as a GC, but not as a plumber?
It’s not a question of using him or not at this point, but it would be helpful to me if anyone has any insight on this. Thanks.
Sorry, after you click Building Information System, Click on Enter Building Information System and then Search for the Contractor
http://www.nyc.gov/buildings
On the left side of the page click Building Information Systems and then Look in the section for Skilled License Search. You can search Plumbers, GC, etc…
he is probably getting covered by a license for a fee.. look at your permits on line and you will see who the plumber of record actually is..
There is no State license for heating or cooling. There is a Dept of Consumer Affairs License for contractors, but that’s not what that company is describing.
It pretty much reads like complete bullshit to me, and judging by your post, to you too.
Plumbers in NYC have their own licenses. Note he says NYS not NYC. It’s unlikely he’s a licensed plumber, but why not just ask?
plumbing licenses are kept at department of buildings plumbing division. look there.
