Does anyone know whether there are any playgrounds or parks in the vicinity of 4th Ave. & 23rd Street. Looking for a good place to bring a small child to play. Any advice greatly appreciated!

  1. Slope Park on 6th Avenue and 19th (mentioned above) is just fine. It has swings, a toddler and a big kid play area, and a water sprinkler (obviously, seasonal).

  2. And Green-Wood definitely, but not as a “ply ground” per se. More of a place to walk, see some statuary and experience lots of nature…

  3. Yep, nothing on that block. You are best heading up to slopefarm’s school playground suggestion, into South Slope via 6th Ave, Windsor Terrace via Windsor Pl. or up to Sunset Park on 5th Ave and 42nd St. The one on 6th and 17th is basically a dog run (not an official one) and on the other side of Prospect Exp. is basically a homeless camp.

  4. Try the playground at 6th Ave at 18th. A few good lunch/snack spots around 6th/20th, too. Not sure of anything closer.
