I live in an old, small (18×35, 3 story) townhouse in 18×100 lot. The building is not historical, has some structural issue, which is not worth saving any anything (including the facade), so we would like to tear it down, and rebuild the new 4 story building.

My husband is very handy, and he would be able to do most of the finish works, so we are looking to build a “shell”, with only finished drywall, plumbing, and electrical.

Would you have any recommendation on architects who has done tear-down/new construction for town house, with some green aspect in mind?

  1. my thoughts EXACTLY jp2,

just remember when it comes time to talk numbers, insist that you will hire your own expediter so remove that cost from the architects fee in the approval phase and construction phase.

would you let the bank hire your mortgage lawyer???
most people do because no one advised them otherwise.

  2. We are a full-service firm in Manhattan and would love to talk to you about your project. Very exciting time– I built my own house a few years ago in New Jersey (divorced and moved to Manhattan) and I come from a family of house builders and developers so I know how to get you what you want.

    Thanks,
