  1. My Co-op has a 6×7 ft vestibule with these tiles. Less than 10 are missing. I am looking for a restoration company that will power clean and seal the floor after replacing the missing ones and making minor repairs to the grout. Can anyone please make recommends?

    Much appreciated.

  2. Ooooh I’m just crazy about vestibule tile. Been meaning to take photos of every one I see, but have forgotten so have no photos to post.

They usually have the dull drab encaustic tile in patterns. Often made out of hexagonal tile. I’ve seen varying patterns depending on the age of the tile (up to the 1910s). I think the Victorian ones might have had wooden wainscotting (not sure if they all did). I’ve seen 19-teens ones with subway tile wainscott 2/3 up and that textured-embossed wallpaper above.

You will see lots of similar patterns on floors in Lower East Side shops.
