Sprinkler Flow Test
My insurance company needs proof that my sprinkler system is working properly. I’m assuming I need a plumber to come out and test it? Can anyone recommend someone inexpensive that is capable of doing this. Thanks!

We can definitely help with your Sprinkler Flow Test for the FDNY. Flow tests and monthly visual inspections are required for buildings with 3 or more families, what is yours? (I’m assuming this is a residential building) We have several employees with their Certificates of Fitness and can schedule with you immediately. Even if you are less than 3 family and have a sprinkler system, it’s important to have it checked on a regular basis to make sure it’s in proper working condition. Please call and speak to Lydia.

Thanks for the replies! Does anyone have any plumber recommendations for this kind of job?
I’m not sure but since I don’t know when the last time the system was tested, it’s probably best to do the more comprehensive option.
A master plumber or a pipe fitter with a master fire suppression license may perform the inspection. The classification of building will tell you what inspection iis required and the frequency.
This is the link to the PDF with the requirements:

I cannot stress this enough: Ask to see their FDNY certificate of fitness. It is a plastic ID card with their photo on it. You may also want to jot down the C of F #
Are we talking the 5 year hydrostatic test or just opening a drain to see if it sets off the flow switch?
