Install a trap for shower
I’ve done my tests and research and decided that I need to install a trap in my basement bathroom. Last week I sealed up the drain and returned tonight. The bathroom did no smell. How much should it cost to install a trap on a shower? Thanks.

INSTALL A GAS LINE FOR A METER
This is a four story brownstone, the gas is included with the basement and parlor floors.
I would like to run a separate line for the top floor(4th).
I need to know about how much will it cost?
Thanks in advance.
I see. Basement to me, though, is the floor above the cellar. I’m thinking Brownstone.
Cellar, basement (or garden), parlor, 2nd, etc.

i seem to remember that it is a basement shower..
If there is no trap, chances are the is no vent either. There are many variables to consider. how close to the main stack is the shower located? Must be tied to the main vent as well.
Chances are this isn’t a legal bathroom anyway. What licensed plumber would install a shower without a trap? How would you get a sign off on a bathroom wreaking of sewer gas? You need to get some hippies to raise the shower stall up about 6 ” and put a trap in. Cut some new holes for the faucet set, put some duct tape over the old ones. They’ll probably use PVC and get high off the glue. Just make sure they cover up the base. $450
Master Plumber said shower is in the basement.
Actually, eman, most often you can open the ceiling from the floor below and do the work.
If the ceiling is sheetrock, it’s a simple repair.
I would think under $1,000.
first of all you will need to bust out the floor of the shower.. what is it made of? is it a prefab base or tile job?…then you will have to have a new trap and slab cast, next anew lead pan, another slab and finally a retile job…you are probably looking at under 2,000
