Hi, I posted earlier but it disappeared. We are looking to move to Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill or Park Slope by May 1. We’d like a 1 bedroom with den or a 2 bedroom, preferably with outdoor space. If anyone has any advice or leads, we’d really appreciate it.

  1. RJ, I have a one bedroom plus den recently renovated apartment on Degraw between Smith and Hoyt for 2K. It is 2 flights up and very sunny/bright. May 1 is our target date to rent but I should mention that there’s a chance it’ll move to May 15. We’re doing construction downstairs and living in the apartment while we finish. It was supposed to be done April 1 but cest la vie… If you are interested, I am at colonelak@hotmail.com. Thanks. Avery

  2. RJ, I have a 1 bedroom plus den for rent in Carroll Gardens for $2100 on May 1. It’s a sunny full floor unit in a 22×40 building. Please email simplyhousing at gmail . com if you’re interested.

Also have a 1100 sq ft duplex with private garden, laundry, recent renovation coming on the market on May 15 for $2800. No fee for either place.

    Thanks

  3. Congrats on the move. I have a garden floor apartment that will become available May 1st in my Brownstone in Windsor Terrace. I have pictures at the link below as well as a video from HGTV’s Urban Outsiders who did a great backyard makeover of the space. It’s a newly renovated 1 bedroom with an eat-in kitchen (stainless steel appliances, dishwasher and granite countertop) Laundry is in the basement. You’ll have direct access to a beautiful garden. The rent I’m asking is $2,100.00 I’m 1 block from the F train Ft. Hamilton Pkwy stop. Minutes from Prospect Park. I have not yet put it on Craigslist but plan on it soon. Let me know if you are interested.

FYI. The deck featured in the video is private to the parlor floor studio apartment which is already rented.

  4. i was just trying to post a follow up to your response and noticed that too 🙁

here is a useful link to all the tenant rights in nyc.

turns out the 10% surcharge is really only applicable by law for rent stabilized apartments, which does not apply here since your rent range is above 2k/month.

but i still would press to see the original tenant/landlord lease, just so you know you aren’t being gouged. and it’s also very critical to make sure the landlord is allowing his tenant to actually sublet.
