We need the wall-to-wall carpet on our 2nd floor cleaned. It’s a high quality 100% wool carpet so we’re looking for someone reliable and expert. Has anybody out there used Kalfaian or do you have other recommendations? Cheers.

Long Island Carpet is great. I’ve used them for a wall-to-wall wool berber as well as antique orientals that they cleaned by hand. They know their business.
Neighbors of mine liked Stanely Steemer (yes, that’s how they spell it.) Only problem is noise level from their street-based generator trucks.
Kalfian is another name used by Long Island Carpet Cleaners, on Norman Ave., in Greenpoint {I believe they bought the name when the original Kalfian, on Atlantic Ave., closed.}
We’ve never used them for wall to wall carpeting, but they do very good work on oriental rugs.
