Querying about elevator companies – does anyone know any independent inspectors or maintenance firms? I need to get a second opinion on a small building elevator.

  1. Our little co-op just replaced our existing company (American Elevator Corp, who I do not trust and would avoid) with Concorde Elevator Industries for about a quarter of the cost on most ongoing maintenance and new repair issues. So far (this month) they’ve been great. They handle a lot of large buildings as well as small ones.

  2. I think John from Arrow Elevator is incredibly good and conscientious. They put a small elevator in our 5 story house and did a great job. They also consult and do maintenance.

  3. Infinitejester;

    I heartily recommend PRO elevator as a maintenance firm. My condo had so many elevator issues until these guys were brought on the scene. They are located in Greenpoint (though they may have moved, as the building they were in was slated for condo development).

    As far as elevator inspectors/consultants, we used United Elevator Consultants, located in Penn Plaza. They were quite good. Ask for Phil Garcia, in particular.
