Boiler accessory issues

btw..i had to buy a new lwco type 11 switch today( the part of the lwco that turns on and off the low water cutoff and auto water feed) for a job and the damn thing cost $127.. parts are expensive as hell
i hear that you can do your own heart surgery, but like working on your boiler, it is ill advised…lol
Do yourself a favor and stay away from installing and wiring boiler controls.
There are scores of career plumbers who can’t do this stuff right.
If you’re handy, there’s no law that says you can’t change boiler parts yourself, though I probably wouldn’t do it myself.
Most plumbing companies charge a pretty big mark-up on parts, so you might be able to save a little by purchasing the parts yourself and hiring a plumber to just swap them out for you.
you are looking at over $500-$600 in parts alone for a float type low water cut off and automatic feed, so the quote is not unreasonable… however are you sure that it is not just loaded with rust, or that the switch on the lwco is not merely fused..i am available for a free consultation @errol832000@yahoo.com.
