Thanks KCF, your kitchen really looks amazing. My partner and I had a terrible time with our kitchen renovation, so bad actually I created a free local rating service on contractors called http://www.goodpeopleguide.com/
Since you loved your cabinet maker so much to give him a great review here, I was wondering if you would you pass it on to to http://www.goodpeopleguide.com/ so more people can learn about him. It’s just an easy free, local site that lists simple, honest reviews from our neighbors that we can trust when looking for help.
Many thanks and enjoy your new kitchen!
Steven
I can also vouch for these cabinets, having seen them in person. They are far superior to something pre-made, and while the photo is lovely, they are even nicer when viewed on site.
fair enough. the kitchen was more than your figure, though not a staggering amount more for the amount of detail and custom work. There were additional costs as well for 3 massive build-ins in the dining room (Christian’s web site shows 2 of them flanking the fireplace under Cambridge and Fulton pantries).
Hey there Kcf-thanks for the post but it would be helpful to get some idea as to how the cost compares to a semi custom brand. We were quoted close to 10k for Rich Maid cabinets — do the kitchen above fall higher or lower than that estimate? If you don’t want to post it here -you can email me at southstuy@gmail.com. Thanks.
LOL on the cactus comment! Poor plant, can’t figure out where the heck it should go… The photog, I guess, liked it where it ended up temporarily pulled in from the deck! As to the Bretazzoni range, so far, so good! One comment/complaint we did hear, is that it isn’t as great at lower temps (esp in the oven), which I think is true. Beware if you are a souffle and meringue maker! But it looks great and packs a lot of high-end punch, both look-wise and function wise, into a price tag that was a whole lot more reasonable than viking type brands.
Strategic use of cactus…is that to discourage guests and small children from wandering into designer kitchen?
I second Christian’s work. He recently did some built-ins in our living room and they came out great–he does very high quality work.
Not knowing much about cabinets….what is more cost effective—using a cabinetmaker as the OP did or going with semi-custom cabinets and installation such as Medallion cabinets? Who has done the comparison and can comment?
Nice looking cabs. How do you like your Bertazzoni range???
