Does anyone have experience with Viessman or Buderus Boilers that burn oil for a hot water, radiator heating system? I would like to replace my 16 year old Burnham with something more efficient. I need about 125,000 BTU. One plumber recommends the Veissman Vitola 200 – it’s expensive, so I’m looking for an alternative that is also efficient. Another plumber recommends the Buderus 115. There is also the Vitorond 100, which I’m waiting for a quote on. Thanks in advance for your advice,
if you are looking to stretch your dollars..you will find the buderus a more affordable option.the vitorond and the vitola are a higher end boiler. the buderus g115 boiler is a very nice unit , and is easily serviced by any profeesional. you may want to contract with an oil heat contractor…they are the ones going to service it.
My son bought a Viessman like you want last year. It came highly recommended by a variety of people/sources. We assembled and installed it, and I was VERY impressed w/ the design and craftsmanship. I’d buy one in a heart beat. They are very efficient, too. Read about them on heating forums. Buderus and Viessman get nothing but good comments as far as I can tell. Good luck. j
I have a Viessman down in PA. It’s especially efficient for a property where you don’t spend a lot of time because of the programmability functions. You will save a lot of money during the non-heating months simply by programming your hot water temperature similar to how you would do day-part programms for your heat. If you need hot water all day long you won’t save as much.
You can even call the boiler on your cell phone and tell it to turn on because you’re on the way!!!
