We are having our first annual End of the World (Or Maybe Not) Party next Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Union Hall in Park Slope. Please remember your ID; as we’ve learned here, Union Hall has a strictly enforced carding policy. The fun will begin at 6:30pm. All are welcome, including occasional visitors to the site with less time on their hands than some of us Brownstoner-addicted bold type regulars. Many of the most adored (and not so adored) posters have confirmed their attendance. We hope to see you there.

Biff,
I’ve been here–we just respond to different threads.
Wasder,
Even when I got my ’67 started in wet weather it would tend to stall until the engine got really hot. It was the first year of a new model that stayed in production until well into the ’70s. I guess Chrysler made some improvements over the production run.
Susan, you got it! Even Bob’s coming and I haven’t seen him around here in a long time.
Save me a name tag. This is becoming too big to miss.
Montrose, how was that (our two comments together) for timing?!
Oh yes, those cars had way too little brake for the engine. The mid-60s models especially. Scary! Loving all these stories. Such power under the unassuming auspices of a little old lady.
Bob, I’m looking very forward to meeting you. Montrose and some of your other pals will be attending.
Montrose Morris will be in the house.
Should be great fun.
