It is a heart wrenching letter to Obama from a guy who started his own business and the trials & tribulations he has gone through over the past few decades.
You;ll be hearing a lot about it…

I’m not advocating the freerepublic.com website. It was just a convenient way of getting it posted here.
Gimme a break. People making over $250,000 a year can afford higher taxes. All Obama is advocating is a return to the tax schedule pre-George Bush. I don’t think he’s advocating an increase in welfare, but it’s a tiny part of the budget. Employers like the writer of this letter don’t want full employment, and without full employment, somebody’s going to have to rely on charity. We’re not likely to see a budget surplus any time soon, if ever again, but if we do the government needs to stop borrowing money, pay down its debt, and figure out a way get health insurance for everyone. Nobody can afford to self-insure, not even those making over $250,000 a year, and certainly not those with pre-existing conditions. Free university education for qualified applicants would also be a tremendous boon for this country.
Great read DIBS, thanks for posting.
To be clear – I wouldnt consider this a McCain or free republic endorsement by any means, who despite the right leaning facade is only slightly less socialistic and populist than Obama in my opinion.
Sad example of how our society has devolved over the years into a more needy and dependant class of reliant dependant infants craving ever more involvment by mommy aka big government. The government is all too happy to oblige with further reaching programs and income re-distribution to please the masses and keep their corrupt asses in office.
Our government is so dysfunctional and our hyper liberalized society is more than happy to enable it. The two-party system has failed as our founding fathers predicted hundreds of years ago. Despite how passionately political many of us are, there really is no difference between Republicans and Democrats except perhaps in the theme of their reterick.
All we have now is self interested politicians and a blind electorate hanging on every word they say to hear how they will give them more entitlements and programs. All the while feeling as though they are getting something for free or that they deserve just for being born.
To be clear, I still believe that any tax increase that Obama heaps onto people making over $250,000 will be immaterial. His capital gains tax and corporate tax policies though need to be modified. Hopefully he will see his shortcomings in the latter areas.
