I am beginning to look into renovating our bathroom and would like to know of people’s favorite stores. Looking for any sources of tiles, vanities, tubs, etc. in Brooklyn or Manhattan.
Thanks!

  1. I had such a good experience with my tile at Home and Stone on Coney Island Ave, that I went back for some hardware. Jerry in the tile dept. helped a lot with design and tile choices. Prices are not cheap. But, it was definitely discounted from top end anywhere else.

  2. The place mentioned above is A&K Tile Studio.

I shopped for everything I needed online(mostly at fixtureuniverse.com) than contacted Decoware (www.decow.com) in Brooklyn. They beat every price I found and were quite easy to work with. We ordered a Toto dual flush toilet, Duravit tub and sinks, Kohler shower, Grohe faucet. I’d highly recommend them. Several of my friends have had good experiences with them as well.

I recently bought some tile from Classic Tile & Marble in Bay Ridge (1635 86th St). Not the greatest selection, but good prices and they had some really beautiful stuff on sale.

  3. There is a great lil tile store on 9th Street Bet. 5th & 6h Avenue in Park Slope Bklym, I dont know the name of the place, but they give you personal attention & they have a great variety. If you go there speak to Cathy, she will help you out.

  4. I really like Bella Tile in Manhattan (East Village). They have a good selection from basic stuff to pretty high end and the staff is very helpful. I think their prices are really good too.

  5. We just completed a mini-reno of our bathroom. For tile, I recommend Cancos Tile on 21st bet 5th & 6th in Manhattan. I second the Toto recommendation. We kept our pedestal sink and tub so can’t help there, but all our showe, sink and wall trim/hardware came from various online sources (faucetdepot.com, hardwareaccents.com, etc).

  6. To add a comment to the above list, whenever I have used Blackman they have been a nightmare. Orders screwed up, poor communication, really an unprofessional staff. If you are spending on that level, A+F supply is much better.

  7. Toto toilets are the best.

If you’re looking for mid to higher end:

    Blackman
    Davis & Warshow
    NYKB
    AF Supply
    Lefroy Brooks
    Dornbracht
    Waterworks
    Artistic Tile
    Ann sacks
    Walker Zanger

    They all have websites. Google.
