Any suggestions for where to get a standard boiler-plate contract for a residential remodel? AIA A107 seems innapropriate because we are not using an architect (don’t ask). I looked at the agc.org contracts, but they are very expensive and intended for commercial jobs.

  1. I am looking for a boiler-plate form that has all those necessary elements plus more. Any suggestions? I did not see any useful blumberg forms. I plan to review the final contract with an attorney.

  2. AGC contracts and AIA contracts are not interchangeable, they are two different approaches to construction. If you are writing a contract for construction from scratch it needs a minimum of 5 elements:
    1. Name of parties involved, 2. Location, 3. Date of Agreement, 4. Scope of work, and 5. Money involved in the contract.

Are you sure you know what you’re getting yourself into here?
